I BLEACHED MY HAIR!! O_O

Yes! I know point your fingers!! I did it! And so far... Me likey! Sooo if you want to know how I did it then keep reading. If you just want to see if I look crazy or not, before and after pictures are below! lol

***Tips*** : Make sure to bleach on dry hair! You have to move pretty quick as well! Also, bleach will dry your hair out so you must keep it moisturized!!

Products used:

2 Packs of BW2 Powder Lightener

Perm Brush

1 Bottle of 30 Volume Creme Developer

1 Small Plastic Bowl

6 Butterfly Clips

What I Did:

First, I parted my hair into six sections(3 in the front and 3 in the back) using buterfly clips for coverage purposes . After that, I put the packs of the BW 2 Powder Lightener in the bowl. Then I slowly stirred the Volume Developer into the BW Powder until I had a thick creamy mixture. I began to place the mixture on my hair. I started at the roots, but I think I should have started on my ends because my roots seemed to turn super fast! It got to the point where the brush was getting a little too bourgeois(booshie), sooooo I definitely put on two gloves and started smacking that stuff on to my hair lol! It took all of  about 8 to 10 minutes for my hair to be fully orangish blonde. I missed a couple spots, but I'm over it now! Learning process!

Let's Talk Business!!

All of our lives, we are told to stay true to ourselves and stand for what we believe in. Does that really cut it in the real world? Let’s narrow down this subject: Natural Hair in the Corporate World. While it is slowly being more recognized and appreciated, there is still a lot of prejudice against natural hair in Corporate America. This includes people of all races! Even black people prejudge women with natural hair like we’re hippies or something (no offense hippies)!  I myself do not have this issue at my job, seeing my boss has a TWA with no intent in growing out, but I see it everywhere. Why is it, a naturalista maybe interviewing for a job, wearing a BOMB twist out doesnt get a call back, but go back to the same company with weave and get the job? I truly don’t blame this on the people, but on the lack of knowledge. You can not appreciate what you don’t understand. Soooo… I want to challenge you to educate someone on the subject of natural hair this month as we celebrate black history. If it’s posting a quick fact on Facebook or Twitter or talking to someone while stand in line at the grocery store, let’s tell our stories and allow our voices to be heard!
“I have a dream that one day women with permed hair, natural hair, relaxed hair, quick weave, extensions, and all that good stuff will stand together hand in hand knowing that each of them are BrAshfully beautiful from the inside out!!” – Ash in BrAsh <3

Rants & Raves: Can I be "fabulous" and natural at first??

We love natural hair because it’s just that…. natural, free, bold, sexy, unique, all the above. Right? Ok so what happens when you big chop and you’re ready to go out with your girls or on a hot date and you stand next to your girls with the weaves and their hair swinging and such. They strangely seem more glamorous than ever right? WELL THEY'RE NOT! Just like in anything in life, you’re never going to jump into something new and be confidant and in loovvee with your new look at all times. I promise you don’t look weird when you are rocking your TWA(or something that isn’t fabulously huge yet)! Seriously! You must make yourself feel they way you want to look and look they way you want to feel! I know you’re thinking that nothing can get you out of this BC dump, but encourage yourself ladies! Be daring with your look! Wear that bold lip you’ve been wanting from the MAC counter. Don’t sit back and wait for the compliments, compliment yourself! I had an issue with this at first. I felt like my hair was too short for me to do my makeup full out, but boy was I wrong! You’re already fearless for going natural, why not go all out?? I’m not telling you to look like a circus clown or something crazy, but I do want to encourage you to go outside of your comfort zone! I like to call it.... BrAshfully Natural!! Do it ladies!

My outfit of the day!
